Dr. Gerdien de Vries is an associate professor in Climate Psychology at the Technology, Policy, and Management faculty at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. She has a social psychology background and integrates psychological theories and research methods with other scientific disciplines to unravel human behaviour in the climate and energy domain. Furthermore, she assesses how policy, technology and actor behaviour influence each other. Dr. de Vries advocates team science and open science and shares her knowledge and research insights with a large audience.
In this Lunch Lecture, climate psychologist dr. Gerdien de Vries elaborates on using behavioural insights to design climate and energy policies and technologies. She zooms into current practices and research projects and looks forward to future possibilities. Furthermore, Gerdien will explain why humans – on all levels and roles - find it challenging to act green and change their behaviour.
